Vacation in Denver, Colorado

The best thing about vacationing in Colorado, is that it is off the beaten path but still popular. Grab a burger at the famed Cherry Cricket in the Cherry Creek shopping district, then head downtown and do some shopping along 16th street mall. You may see a Bronco player out with their family.. just smile and wave. We are used to superstars in our town! Catch a ball game while you are at it. With all 7 major professional sports teams, there is always a sporting event going on.

Listen to the poem by a local Beat Poet Ken Arkind. Let his words and the images, move you.

During a weekend, head up to Estes Park or Glenwood springs. With mountains as little as 2 hours away, the possibilities are endless. Estes is home to the famous Rocky Mountain National Park where you can take a short hike (bring water) and see amazing lakes and wildlife. Be sure you walk the small town, taking in the shops, and purchasing some salt water taffy from The Taffy Shop. Glenwood Springs has hot springs that allows you to relax and enjoy the scenery. Up for a bit of a climb? Head over to Idaho Springs and climb St Marys’ Glacier and get away from the hustle of the city. On your way back to Denver, stop at Beau Jo’s Pizza and enjoy a true mile high pizza!

During ski season, you cannot beat our mountains. From Vail, to Aspen and Breckenridge, you will be sure to find all the runs you need. Don’t ski? Take a lesson or go boarding. Better yet, stay in the cabin and watch the snow fall.

The last stop should be Red Rocks in Morrison. As the video stated, music sounds better when it is in a natural amphitheater. That night, check out one of our many steak houses. Colorado has an abundance of farm grown cows and our steaks are top notch. From Elway’s, Shanahans, Del Friscos and Mortons, you will not go hungry. If you are brave, try Rocky Mountain Oysters at the Buckhorn Exchange!

When it is time to settle down, go to your rental in the heart of downtown and take in the sites of our city. The buildings, the hustle and bustle, and the amazing mountains…breathtaking. Come and enjoy the Mile High city and all that Colorado has to offer!
